Quick answer: the right Brevo alternative depends on what pushed you to look. If it is WhatsApp, which Brevo only offers for campaigns on Professional (from $499 a month) and Enterprise, Zoye gives a small team WhatsApp conversations, a CRM and follow-ups in one workspace priced by member. If it is the email bill, MailerLite and Mailchimp are the cheap swaps, and online stores should compare Klaviyo with Omnisend.

Key takeaways (October 2026)

  • Brevo lists WhatsApp campaigns only on Professional and Enterprise. Professional starts at $499 a month with 150,000 emails and 10 seats, while Standard starts at $18, so the step up is roughly 27 times the price.
  • The low tiers cap stored contacts as well as sends: at 5,000 emails a month, Starter and Standard allow 500 marketing contacts, rising to 2,500 at 15,000 emails, per Brevo's published pricing data.
  • Brevo's sales pipeline is a separate line: Sales Essentials at $31 a month on Starter and Standard, Sales Advanced at $65 a month per user on Professional.
  • Email-first exits start at $12 a month (MailerLite Comfort) and $13 (Mailchimp Essentials). Zoye Growth, the plan that includes the WhatsApp and Meta automations, is $59 a month for up to 20 members ($47 billed yearly), with no charge per contact.
  • WhatsApp always comes with a second bill from Meta. Since 1 October 2026, each business number gets 1,000 free service messages a month; marketing templates are charged on every delivery.

Why small teams start looking for Brevo alternatives

Most small teams that leave Brevo hit one of three walls: WhatsApp campaigns are reserved for the $499 Professional plan and Enterprise, the cheaper tiers cap how many contacts you can store, and the sales pipeline, extra seats and logo removal each carry their own price. None of this makes Brevo a bad tool. It makes it a tool built around email first.

Brevo, formerly Sendinblue, is a broad marketing platform: email campaigns, transactional email, SMS, push, live chat, a sales CRM and, at the top, WhatsApp. Its pricing page groups everything into Free, Starter, Standard, Professional and Enterprise. The detail below comes from that page, Brevo's WhatsApp product page and the machine-readable pricing data Brevo publishes alongside it, all checked in October 2026.

WhatsApp campaigns start at $499 a month

Brevo's WhatsApp product page says it plainly: WhatsApp campaigns are available on the Professional and Enterprise plans. On the pricing page, WhatsApp appears under Professional as one of the "additional marketing channels", next to popups and push.

Professional is listed from $499 a month, or $5,389 a year with the 10% annual discount. That entry price includes 150,000 emails a month and 10 seats. Standard, the plan below, is listed from $18 a month. For a business that sends a newsletter twice a month and wants to message leads on WhatsApp, that is a large gap to cross for one channel, and it comes before Meta charges a single message.

Brevo is a certified WhatsApp Business Solution Provider, and its campaigns are capable: messages of up to 1,024 characters with buttons, video and emoji, replies handled inside Brevo's Conversations inbox, and WhatsApp steps inside automation workflows. The issue is not quality. It is that a five-person team gets there only by buying a plan sized for a much larger marketing operation.

The cheaper tiers cap contacts, not only emails

Brevo is often described as "pay for emails, not contacts". That still holds on the Free plan, which stores up to 100,000 contacts with a daily cap of 300 emails. It no longer fully holds on the paid entry tiers.

Brevo's published pricing data lists a contact limit for every email-volume tier of Starter and Standard:

  • 5,000 emails a month: up to 500 marketing contacts
  • 10,000 emails a month: up to 1,500 marketing contacts
  • 15,000 emails a month: up to 2,500 marketing contacts
  • 20,000 emails a month and up: up to 500,000 marketing contacts

In practice, a business with 2,000 contacts cannot sit on the $9 entry price, even if it only emails once a month. It needs at least the 15,000-email tier to store the list, so the email volume you buy is partly a contact limit in disguise.

The CRM, extra seats and branding are priced separately

Three smaller lines add up on the lower plans, as of October 2026:

  • Sales pipeline. Brevo lists Sales Essentials at $31 a month on Starter and Standard, and Sales Advanced at $65 a month per user on Professional.
  • Seats. Starter is built for a single user. Standard allows up to three marketing seats, with each seat after the first at $12 a month. Professional includes 10.
  • Branding. Removing the "Sent with Brevo" footer costs $12 a month on Starter; it is included from Standard up.

Each line is reasonable alone. Together, a three-person team on Standard with a pipeline is no longer an $18 tool.

What Brevo does well, and who should stay

Brevo is strong where email is the business. Its Free plan is unusually generous for storing contacts, it also handles transactional email through SMTP relay and API, and Standard is pitched at small businesses ready to automate and test campaigns, at a price well under most rivals.

Who should stay on Brevo: a team whose revenue comes from email volume, that already pays for Professional or is happy to, and that wants WhatsApp campaigns living beside large email journeys. For them, Brevo's single bill for email, SMS and WhatsApp is a real advantage.

What to look for in a Brevo alternative

Pick an alternative by asking where your customers actually reply and what has to happen next. If replies come on WhatsApp and turn into quotes, bookings or deals, you need a CRM and follow-up engine more than a bigger email plan. If replies are rare and revenue follows the newsletter, a cheaper email tool is enough.

Run each option through these questions:

  1. Where does WhatsApp sit? Included, an add-on, a top-tier feature, or not offered. Check the plan, not the feature list.
  2. What is the bill based on? Emails sent, stored contacts, active profiles, seats or team members. Price your list at today's size and at double.
  3. Do unsubscribed contacts count? Some vendors bill for them, so ask how contacts are counted before you import.
  4. Is the pipeline included? If you track deals, check whether the CRM is part of the plan or a per-seat extra.
  5. Who builds the follow-ups? A canvas you design, prebuilt flows, or an assistant that drafts the rule from your description and waits for approval.
  6. Where do replies land? A reply should reach the contact's record with an owner and a next step, not sit in an inbox that nobody checks on Fridays.

For more on that last point, our guide to the WhatsApp follow-up sequence shows what a good next step looks like after the first reply.

The 7 best Brevo alternatives in 2026

These seven cover the realistic exits for a small team: one operator for WhatsApp, CRM and follow-ups, three email-first platforms, HubSpot as the suite option, and two ecommerce specialists. Each entry starts with its limitation, then gives the October 2026 price from the vendor's own page and the team it suits best.

1. Zoye: WhatsApp, CRM and follow-ups for the team that answers customers

Start with what Zoye is not. It is not an email marketing platform: there is no newsletter designer and no bulk email sending, so a business whose revenue rides on a weekly newsletter to a large list should keep a dedicated email tool for that job. Zoye replaces the other half of Brevo: the contacts, the pipeline, the follow-ups and the WhatsApp conversations that turn a lead into a customer.

Zoye is an AI Business Operator. One workspace holds your contacts and CRM, deals, tasks, calendar, documents, team, budget and invoices and reports, plus workflow and WhatsApp automations, Facebook and Instagram, email tracking and an AI Notetaker, all linked: open a deal and you see its contact, its open tasks, its files and its payments. On top sits an assistant that does the work with you, in the web app, on WhatsApp, by voice note, in Slack or through the Claude connector.

The WhatsApp side is what most Brevo leavers are after. Zoye runs on the official WhatsApp Business Platform with six WhatsApp automations, each off until you switch it on and each confirming before it sends:

  • a first message to every new lead, switchable per source (ads, forms, website, API, manual), one per person
  • a qualifying bot that writes the answers into the lead's CRM fields
  • audiences that stay current as records change
  • scheduled broadcasts personalised per recipient, sent at a measured pace
  • Meta's approval of your message formats handled for you, including resubmitting edits
  • click-to-chat capture, so every chat started from your site becomes a lead

Chats brings Instagram and Facebook messages and comments together with the WhatsApp conversations Zoye has with your leads, with assignment, team notes and quick replies, and every chat kept on the contact card. Connecting your own business WhatsApp number is coming soon. You can see the full set on the WhatsApp automations page.

Follow-up rules work differently from a Brevo workflow. You describe what should happen, in the app, on WhatsApp or in Slack, and Zoye builds the rule, shows it to you, and waits for your approval. A visual builder exists if you want it, but nobody is sent there first. Every run is logged with what fired and what changed, and can be reversed. Ready recipes cover instant lead follow-up, a deal that has sat untouched for 7 days, onboarding after a won deal and chasing an overdue payment.

Zoye reports showing won deals, pipeline value and follow-up activity drawn from the same contact records the WhatsApp automations update

Zoye reports count the deals your WhatsApp and email follow-ups moved, not just how many messages were opened.

Honest limits beyond email: Zoye is not a helpdesk ticketing suite and not an accounting ledger, and it does not run ads. It captures the leads your ads produce and works them.

Pricing (as of October 2026): Zoye charges for the people on your team, never for the size of your contact list. Almost Free is $5 a month ($4 billed yearly) for one member with the core tools, 15 AI prompts a month and the Google integrations, but no automations. Starter is $29 a month ($23 yearly) for up to 10 members and 5GB. Growth is $59 ($47) for up to 20 members and 10GB. Scale is $119 ($95) for up to 100 members and 25GB. Customize is quoted. The pricing page lists what each plan covers.

Best for: small teams whose customers reply on WhatsApp and whose revenue depends on fast follow-up, deals and tasks, who would rather pair a cheap newsletter tool with Zoye than buy Brevo Professional.

2. MailerLite: the low-cost email swap

MailerLite's limitation is that it stays in its lane. It is an email platform with automations, landing pages, websites and digital products, and its plan list includes neither a sales pipeline nor WhatsApp. If what you want from a Brevo alternative is simply a cheaper, friendlier email tool, that focus is the point.

Pricing (as of October 2026): the Free plan covers 250 subscribers with 2,500 emails a month and 2 seats. Comfort costs $12 a month at 500 subscribers, $19 at 1,000 and $33 at 2,500, and includes 3 seats. Power costs $25 at 500 subscribers, $39 at 1,000 and $49 at 2,500, with unlimited seats and unlimited emails under fair use. Paying yearly takes 10% off.

Best for: creators and service businesses whose Brevo account was a newsletter plus two or three sequences, with leads tracked elsewhere.

3. Mailchimp: the familiar name with a contact-count catch

Mailchimp's limitation is how it counts. Its help center states that subscribed, unsubscribed and non-subscribed contacts are all included in your contact count; only archived, cleaned and deleted contacts are excluded. A list you never prune keeps raising the bill. Its pricing page lists SMS as a paid add-on in select countries and does not list WhatsApp.

Pricing (as of October 2026): Free for up to 250 contacts and 500 sends a month (no more than 250 a day) with 1 seat. Essentials from $13 a month with 3 seats and a monthly send limit of 10 times your contacts. Standard from $20 a month with 5 seats and 12 times contacts. Premium from $350 a month with unlimited seats and 15 times contacts. Lists of 10,000 contacts or more get 15% off the first 12 months.

Best for: teams that want a well-known email tool with plenty of templates and integrations, and that will archive unsubscribed contacts regularly.

4. ActiveCampaign: deeper automation at contact-tier prices

ActiveCampaign's limitation is that every plan is priced by contact tier, and both the CRM and WhatsApp are sold as add-ons. In exchange, it has one of the deepest visual automation builders in email marketing, which is why teams with a dedicated marketer often move up to it from Brevo.

Pricing (as of October 2026): for 1,000 contacts, Starter at $15 a month billed yearly ($19 monthly), Plus at $49 ($59), Pro at $79 ($99) and Enterprise at $145 ($179). The Pipelines CRM add-on starts at $39 a month on Plus. At 2,500 contacts, Plus rises to $95 a month billed yearly. We cover the details in our ActiveCampaign alternatives guide.

Best for: a business with someone who enjoys building multi-step nurture journeys and has the list size to justify contact-tier pricing.

5. HubSpot: native WhatsApp, but only on Professional

HubSpot's limitation mirrors Brevo's: its built-in WhatsApp channel sits on the Professional and Enterprise tiers of Marketing Hub or Service Hub, with a shared limit of 1,000 template messages a month per account, as covered in our HubSpot WhatsApp integration guide. The free CRM is generous; the WhatsApp tier is not cheap.

Pricing (as of October 2026): free tools for up to 2 users. Marketing Hub Starter from $20 per seat a month at list. Marketing Hub Professional starts at $800 a month on annual billing, which buys 3 core seats and 2,000 marketing contacts; each further core seat is $45 a month, and a one-time $3,000 onboarding fee applies.

Best for: B2B teams that want HubSpot's CRM and reporting as the long-term home and have budget for Professional once WhatsApp matters.

6. Klaviyo: store data first, WhatsApp among its channels

Klaviyo's limitation is its audience. It is built for online stores, turning orders, browsing and catalogs into email and mobile messages, and bills on active profiles. A service business or B2B team will pay for store intelligence it never uses. Its channel list now includes WhatsApp marketing alongside email, SMS and push, so check availability for your country before you plan around it.

Pricing (as of October 2026): Klaviyo's Free plan allows 250 active profiles and 500 email sends a month. The Email plan starts at $20 a month (251 to 500 active profiles) and Email and SMS at $35 a month. Mobile messages are priced separately; the Free plan includes $5 of mobile messages a month.

Best for: Shopify and other ecommerce brands that measure success in revenue per message.

7. Omnisend: ecommerce email and SMS at a gentler entry price

Omnisend's limitation is the same store-first design as Klaviyo, with no sales pipeline for a service team and no WhatsApp on its pricing page. For a smaller shop it is often the cheaper option, with prebuilt ecommerce automations that work without heavy setup.

Pricing (as of October 2026): Free for 250 contacts and 500 emails a month. Standard at $16 a month for 251 to 500 contacts, with 30% off the first three months when paid upfront. Pro at $59 a month for 2,500 contacts with unlimited email under fair use. SMS credits are bought separately.

Best for: small online stores that want cart and browse automations at a lower entry price than Klaviyo.

Brevo alternatives compared

The table sets Brevo beside the seven alternatives on the four points that decide value for a small team in 2026: the entry price, what makes the bill grow, where WhatsApp sits, and whether a sales pipeline is part of the plan. Every figure is as of October 2026 and comes from the vendor's own pages.

Read the WhatsApp column first if that is why you are leaving. Brevo and HubSpot put WhatsApp behind a Professional-tier jump, three tools do not list it at all, and Zoye is the one built around turning a WhatsApp reply into a deal, a task and a follow-up for a small team.

What WhatsApp costs on top of any of these tools

Whichever tool you choose, WhatsApp brings a second bill from Meta. Meta charges per delivered message by category and recipient country, and has done so since 1 July 2025. The software fee covers the tool; Meta's charge covers the conversation. Budget for both before you compare plans.

The rules that matter for a small team, from Meta's developer documentation as of October 2026:

  • Marketing templates are always charged on delivery. A broadcast to 2,000 people is 2,000 billable messages.
  • Since 1 October 2026, every business number gets 1,000 free service messages a month, with no rollover. Service messages are your replies inside the 24-hour window after a customer writes to you.
  • Utility templates sent inside an open window are charged again from 1 October 2026, after being free from July 2025 to the end of September 2026.
  • The free entry point opens only when someone starts a chat from a click-to-WhatsApp ad on the Android or iOS app and you answer in time; for up to 7 days, your messages in that conversation are free.
  • Outside the 24-hour window, you can only send an approved template.

Rates change by country and Meta can only change them at the start of a quarter, so take the current figure from Meta's rate card. Our breakdown of WhatsApp Business API pricing works through what a typical month costs.

One more rule shapes which tool you can use. From 15 January 2026, Meta's WhatsApp Business Solution Terms keep general-purpose AI chatbots off the platform, meaning assistants whose product is the AI itself. A business using AI to answer, qualify and book its own customers is still allowed. Business tools that serve your own customers, like the ones in this list, sit on the allowed side.

Three small-team budgets, priced out

Take a 4-person team with 2,000 contacts that sends one newsletter a month, gets most replies on WhatsApp, and tracks about 30 open deals. Staying on Brevo with WhatsApp means Professional; splitting the job across a cheap email tool and an operator costs a fraction of that. Figures are October 2026 list prices before Meta's message charges.

  • All on Brevo: WhatsApp campaigns need Professional, from $499 a month with 10 seats and 150,000 emails. Add Sales Advanced for all four people at $65 each and the bill reaches about $759 a month.
  • MailerLite Comfort plus Zoye Growth: $33 for up to 2,500 subscribers plus $59 for Zoye with up to 20 members, so $92 a month. The newsletter goes out from MailerLite; leads, deals, follow-ups and WhatsApp conversations run in Zoye.
  • Brevo Standard plus Zoye Growth: keep Brevo for email on Standard from $18 a month, though a 2,000-contact list needs at least the 15,000-email tier, plus $59 for Zoye. Useful if you like Brevo's editor and only want to stop paying for Professional.
  • HubSpot for everything: Marketing Hub Professional from $800 a month billed yearly with 3 core seats, one extra core seat at $45, and the $3,000 onboarding fee in year one.

The shape is consistent. When WhatsApp and follow-ups are where the money is made, a top-tier marketing plan buys capacity you will not use, and two tools sized for the job cost less. When email volume is the business, Brevo Professional can still be the right answer.

How to move off Brevo without losing a contact

A careful move takes one to two weeks: export contacts with their consent status, keep a suppression list, import into the new tools, rebuild only the automations that earn money, and run old and new side by side for one sending cycle. Consent travels first, data second.

  1. List what actually runs. Note every Brevo automation that sent something in the last 90 days, plus any WhatsApp campaigns. That short list is your scope.
  2. Export contacts with status. Export to CSV with attributes, lists and email and SMS subscription status. Keep unsubscribed and blocklisted contacts as a separate suppression file so nobody who opted out hears from you again.
  3. Export deals if you used Brevo's CRM. Pull deals with stage, value, owner and linked contact so the pipeline can be rebuilt as it was.
  4. Import into Zoye. Upload the CSV as a spreadsheet import, or hand the file to the assistant, which pulls records out of a CSV, a PDF or even a screenshot. If parts of your work live in Trello or Monday.com, Zoye imports from those too. Jira, Notion and ClickUp imports are coming soon.
  5. Describe the follow-ups. Tell Zoye something like "when a lead from the website form has not replied in two days, create a task for the owner and send a WhatsApp reminder", review the rule it shows you, and approve it. Our guide on how to automate follow-ups has more patterns worth copying.
  6. Move the newsletter. Import only the subscribed segment into MailerLite, Mailchimp or your chosen email tool, with the suppression file loaded first.
  7. Overlap, then downgrade. Keep Brevo for one cycle, compare replies and deals, then drop to a lower plan or close the account before the renewal date.

Which Brevo alternative fits your team

Choose by where your customers answer you and what must happen after they do. Newsletter-driven businesses need a cheaper email tool. WhatsApp-driven service teams need an operator that turns replies into deals and tasks. Stores need ecommerce automation, and B2B teams with budget can grow into HubSpot.

  • A solo creator or newsletter-first business: MailerLite Comfort or Mailchimp Essentials. Low price, nothing you will not use.
  • A 3 to 15 person service team whose customers reply on WhatsApp: Zoye for the CRM, deals, tasks, follow-ups and WhatsApp, paired with a low-cost email tool if the newsletter stays.
  • A team with a marketer who builds journeys: ActiveCampaign, with the contact tier and add-ons priced in.
  • A B2B team settling on one suite: HubSpot, with Professional in the forecast if WhatsApp becomes central.
  • An online store: Klaviyo for depth, Omnisend for a lower entry price.
  • An email-heavy business already on Professional: stay on Brevo, where WhatsApp campaigns sit beside your existing journeys.

The bottom line

Brevo remains one of the best-value email platforms for teams that send a lot of email. For a small team that wants email plus WhatsApp plus a CRM, its October 2026 pricing creates a gap: WhatsApp campaigns start on a $499 plan, the low tiers cap contacts, and the pipeline costs extra.

If your customers already answer you on WhatsApp, try the split before you upgrade: keep a low-cost tool for the newsletter and let Zoye handle the leads, deals and follow-ups. Describe the two follow-ups your team always forgets, approve the rules Zoye builds, and judge it by the deals that move in the first fortnight. Book a Zoye demo and bring your Brevo export.
